Universal List v.3.3 Universal List (U.L.) is a tool for creating and managing database tables in DNN with a mouse. Tables can be standalone and simple, like Contacts (Name, Address & Phone), or relational (creating complex relationships using multiple tables) like Contacts (Name, Address & Phone), Departments (Name, Manager, Contact), & Roles (RoleName, Description, PayGrade). All of the features you expect from an item list page - sorting by row header, list filtering by keyword or dropdown, user-set pagination (show X records per page; click next, previous, or the page number). Filtering takes into account DateTime, Numeric, or Reference data. U.L. has keyword searching. It uses a fast indexing algorithm to search by keyword in all of the data fields. Ask your host if this is a problem. Q: How does Importing work? A: We use an XML-based system to read data from XLS or CSV files into a table. There is one Microsoft-related bug for Excel-type files - when the server reads the data, it looks at the first 10 rows of data to determine the data type of records in that field. If your first 10 rows have data less than 255 characters in a field, and the 11th row has a field of 300 characters, all records will have that data cut off. The workaround is to add a dummy row and delete the record when it is uploaded. Q: How do I create a relationship between tables? A: You need only select type for field REFERENCE, then select from which table and which field will be as Display field. Q: Do you perform customizations to the software?
